Matt Pyken was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Los Angeles, and is the eldest of three children. Sister Jennifer Pyken is an Emmy-nominated music supervisor, and sister Julie an artist. Matt attended Claremont McKenna College, where he received degrees in Literature and Political Science, then went on to work in Washington D.C., and around the country as a political consultant, speechwriter and campaign manager. He returned to Los Angeles to co-found a successful software company, where he co-created the hit video game "Fox Hunt." After adapting a video game as a TV pilot, Matt began his career in television, as a writer and producer on a wide range of television dramas - from the groundbreaking "Queer as Folk" to "Mr. Robot," (for which he won a Writer's Guild Award) to the mega-hit "Empire."
